A permit is not a "reservation"
A Stanford parking permit is just that; permission to park in designated areas on University lands. It is not a guarantee that you will always be able to find a space in your favorite lot.
Lost and stolen permits
A Stanford parking permit is worth big bucks, and you should treat it as carefully as you would treat any other valuable. Always keep your car locked and windows rolled up. Lose your Long-Term permit? Come in to our office at 340 Bonair Siding and fill out a Lost or Stolen Permit Report. We'll send the report over to the police department and they'll keep an eye out for the errant permit. In the meantime, we'll issue you a free one-month temporary permit in the hopes that the missing one is recovered. In the event your permit is not found, you will be responsible for the full value of your original permit and half the price of a replacement.
If you forget your permit...
If you find yourself on campus without your parking permit, pick up a free temporary courtesy permit at Parking & Transportation Services. Just bring your ID with you.
Yours and only yours
Your parking permit remains the property of the Office of Parking & Transportation Services. The permit is to be used by the registered holder(s) only. Do not sell or transfer it to anyone else.
Penalties
Anyone found to be in violation of the Commute Club and/or parking permit policies set forth by Parking & Transportation Services (P&TS) is subject to revocation of transportation and/or parking privileges. Instances of egregious misconduct may result in further administrative, disciplinary, and/or legal action, up to and including termination of employment or expulsion.
