Fall Parking Permits Now Available (effective 9/1)

September calendar month, Quarterly (Sept-Dec), Monthly Auto-Renewal (effective 9/1), and Annual Department/Vendor/Contractor permits are available for purchase.

Event Parking

Stanford Campus EventEvents, camps, and conferences are an integral part of the campus environment and need advance planning with Stanford Transportation. Parking is limited to specific areas based on space availability, time of year, other events, construction projects, number of attendees, and other factors. An event must be sponsored by a Stanford affiliate to reserve parking.

Reducing single-occupant vehicles and peak-hour vehicle trips is a priority at Stanford in keeping with the university’s sustainability and General Use Permit goals. Consider alternative ways to minimize event vehicle traffic and avoid event times that create peak-hour vehicle arrivals between 8-9 am and departures between 5- 6 pm.

Employees have access to Submit an Event Parking Request in the Parking Permit Management System. 

  • Consider the following when making an event parking request:
    • Parking reservation requests must be submitted at least 10 business days before the event.
    • Last-minute requests if approved are subject to additional fees.
    • Cancellations require a minimum notice of 7 business days to avoid charges.
    • Students and non-Stanford affiliates/visitors will not have access to the event parking portal.

As an alternative, Stanford event hosts can encourage visitors to use one-day visitor parking which is available through the ParkMobile app, the mobile website, via QR code, or by texting PARK to ParkMobile at 77223. We recommend downloading the ParkMobile app before arriving at Stanford for faster and more convenient visitor parking payments.
 

Stanford Campus Event Parking Options

GALVEZ LOT (L-96): Stanford’s designated event parking lot offers parking at a discounted rate with electric signs included. The gate is closed unless the lot is reserved by a Stanford department. The gate will be programmed based on the event start and end times. There are 414 spaces in Galvez Lot plus 9 ADA spaces.

  • Weekdays, 6am – 4pm:
    • Reserved Spaces: Spaces can be reserved at $12/space per day regardless of the number of spaces used. PTA/Cost Center is the only accepted form of payment.
      • “Reserved/Tow-Away” signs will be posted, and an event voucher code will be provided which attendees will use to register to park for enforcement purposes.
         
    • General Parking: $8/car with a $160/20 car minimum. If more than 20 cars register, the cost will be $8 x number of cars per day. A parking event voucher code will be provided for attendees to use for enforcement purposes.
      • The voucher code can be set up for attendees to self-pay when registering their vehicle, or for the department to pay after the event. If attendees pay, a department PTA is still required. In the event less than 20 cars register to park, the department will pay the difference.
      • Parking is first come, first served; spaces will not be reserved.
         
    • Reserve Entire Lot (414 spaces): The fee is $3,312 and includes 2 Special Event Patrols for four hours paid for by Stanford Transportation, regardless of the number of spaces used. Signage will not be posted.
       
  • Weekdays after 4 pm/Weekend options:
    • Spaces can be reserved at $6/space/day regardless of the number of spaces used.  PTA/Cost Center is the only form of payment for reserved spaces.
    • There is a $75 flat fee for general after-hours use of the lot.
    • Parking will be first come first served; spaces will not be reserved.
       
  • BIG 5 Events:
    • NSO, Reunion Homecoming, Family Weekend, Admit Weekend, Commencement 
    • Galvez lot is available for Office of Special Events & Protocol (OSEP) parking needs at no cost on the event day and only in the lot.
      Reserving spaces anywhere else on campus will be charged at the going rate.
      *Only applies to BIG 5 events hosted by OSEP.


RESERVED SPACES: Weekdays, prior to 4 pm is $37/space/day. Departments are charged for each space requested, regardless of the number of spaces used. PTA/Cost Center is the only form of payment.

  • “Reserved/Tow-Away” signs will be posted, and an event voucher code will be provided where vehicle information must be registered for enforcement purposes. Whomever the voucher code is shared with will have access to enter vehicle information – attendee, event coordinator or admin.
  • In lieu of a voucher code, Special Event Patrol (SEP) can be hired through DPS at an additional cost; deputies will be assigned to monitor the spaces.DPS will charge the department directly. The form must be submitted at least 14 days before the event date.
  • The afterhours/weekend cost to reserve parking is $9/space. A voucher code will not be provided.
     

DAILY ‘A’ PERMIT: $19/ea with a $380/20 permit minimum per day. If more than 20 cars register, the cost will be $19 x number of cars per day. The voucher code can be set up for attendees (or the department) to pay. If attendees pay, a department PTA is still required if less than 20 cars register. The department will pay the difference.

Parking is first come first served in ‘A’ and ‘C’ parking spaces; spaces will not be reserved.


EVENT DAILY PERMIT: $6/ea with a $120/20 permit minimum. If more than 20 cars register, the cost will be $6 x number of cars per day. The voucher code can be set up for attendees to pay, or for the department to pay. If attendees pay, a department PTA is still required if less than 20 cars register to park. The department will pay the difference.

Valid in shared ‘C/E’ spaces in Varsity Lot (L-97), Searsville Lot (L-22) and Track House Lot (L-95) on a first come, first served basis; spaces will not be reserved.


CONFERENCE DAILY PERMIT: $8/ea with a $160/20 permit minimum. If more than 20 cars register, the cost will be $8 x number of cars per day. The voucher code can be set up for attendees (or the department) to pay.

Valid in ‘EA/ES/SO’ spaces on lower levels 3 & 4 of Wilbur Field Garage (PS-6) only, on a first come, first served basis; spaces will not be reserved.
 

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

  • Cones can be requested for reserved spaces for an additional $59 flat fee.
  • The Groves: Eucalyptus, Toyon, and Lasuen can be requested for overflow parking only if Galvez Lot is part of your request and your event is expected to exceed the maximum at Galvez Lot. There is a $75 fee per location.
  • Bus parking on campus is located on Oak Rd @ Stock Farm Rd. The space is free and designed for buses to use while their group visits campus. Per university policy, buses are not allowed to park elsewhere and may be cited by Public Safety. For general inquiries, or for assistance with the best location for drop off/pick up, contact tourbuses@stanford.edu.
  • Preferred Valet Vendors: (Your group may hire a vendor not listed below) 

Stanford Redwood City Event Parking Options

Spaces can be reserved at $48/space/day regardless of the number of spaces used. PTA is the only form of payment for reserved spaces.

Reserved Spaces: “Reserved/Tow-Away” signs will be posted, and an event voucher code will be provided where vehicle information must be registered for enforcement purposes.

Daily Permit: An event link can be set up for Daily ‘C-SRWC’ permits. The cost is $6/ea. with a $120/20 car minimum.  Parking will be first come, first served in ‘C’ spaces at the Bay Lot and Barron Garage in Stanford Redwood City Campus; spaces will not be reserved. This option is only available to SRWC departments.

Stanford’s free Marguerite Shuttles provides convenient transportation around campus and to nearby locations. For large group events, consider Charter Services with various bus sizes and parking shuttles available.
