Scheduling Rides
Rides are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, we encourage all users to book rides before 7 pm the day before their intended ride. We recommend that students with a regular schedule consider booking recurring weekly or quarterly rides. Priority is given to rides to class and doctor appointments.
If you are scheduling a ride before 7 pm the day before the ride, you have the following options:
- By Phone: Call or text (415) 404-1059. Please provide the dispatcher with the pick-up date, pick-up time, detailed pick-up location, destination, phone number, and relevant information (e.g., wheelchair user, mobility devices, using crutches, etc.). The dispatcher will email you with confirmation. If you choose to text, the dispatcher will also confirm your booking via text message.
- By online reservation form: Please complete the online reservation form. The dispatcher will email you confirmation.
*For Same-Day Requests: Call or text (415) 404-1059.
Cancellations, Changes, No-Show Policy
To modify or cancel rides or update an existing ride, please call or text DisGo dispatch as soon as possible at (415) 404-1059.
No-Show Policy: Failure to appear for a scheduled ride will result in the cancellation of your remaining rides for the day. To keep your remaining rides, please confirm them by calling (415) 404-1059.
Important Considerations
- DisGo is NOT an on-demand ride-hailing service. Rides are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, typically through online reservations or phone calls. The dispatcher will assign the trips in the order they were received. We have a limited capacity and cannot accommodate all requests. To maximize your chances of having a ride, please book by 7 p.m. the day before.
- Be ready before your pickup time. Drivers wait up to 5 minutes at the pickup location.
- Drivers can assist passengers with getting into and out of the vehicle upon request. However, they cannot assist passengers from the vehicle to their destination building. If you require assistance getting from the DisGo drop-off point to a specific room or floor, please arrange for this additional assistance or contact the Office of Accessible Education (OAE) to explore accommodations.
- Demand During Peak Hours: Trips to classes and medical appointments will be prioritized during peak hours. It is recommended that during peak operating hours (11:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.), riders limit their rides to dining halls, residences, gyms, the student union, etc.
- Alternative Transportation: DisGo has limited capacity and may not be able to provide rides to requested locations at requested times on some occasions. Riders are encouraged to explore the Marguerite Shuttles as an alternative. All buses are wheelchair accessible and equipped with bike racks.
- DisGo carts are used for transporting passengers and do not have flatbed storage areas. As a general rule, no personal transportation conveyances (e.g., bikes, scooters, etc.) are permitted on DisGo carts. Packages, parcels, or boxes larger than a backpack must be contained within the passenger row of the golf cart, and riders are responsible for securing these items.
- Any mobility devices (e.g., scooters, wheelchairs, etc.) used for disability-related needs must be collapsible and contained within the passenger row of the DisGo cart. For mobility devices that are not collapsible, it is recommended that passengers request the wheelchair-accessible DisGo cart.
- DisGo drivers are not responsible for assisting passengers in loading and offloading personal items. If you have questions regarding the above, please contact disabilitygolfcart@stanford.edu.
