As commuting to campus continues to ramp up, our goal is to make it easier for you to choose the commute that works best for you. Don’t miss the latest updates in our Return-to-Your-Commute Toolkit, which includes information about parking, improved transit options, and more. Here’s what’s new in the toolkit:
- Commute data: Are you curious about whether trains and buses are crowded or empty? We're sharing data from some Bay Area transit agencies.
- Public transit updates:
- Did you know that Caltrain has increased service to its highest levels ever? They are providing more weekday trains and more overall service than before the pandemic.
- VTA has struggled to recover after the tragedy at their railyard earlier this year. The good news is that they have now fully restored service to their light-rail system.
- Commuter parking: In our latest update, we further address parking concerns. And while it isn’t new, we also added a note letting customers know their ‘A’ and ‘C’ parking permits are valid at both the main campus and Stanford Redwood City (SRWC) even for same-day visits. For example, if you work at SRWC and need to run an errand to the main campus, feel free to park in any ‘C’ permit space with your ‘C-SRWC’ permit. If you work at the main campus, you can park in any ‘C’ permit space with a valid ‘A’ or ‘C’ permit. Please note: ‘C-SRWC’ permits are only valid in ‘C’ spaces on the main campus.

We—like so many others—are working hard to make your return to campus a good experience. If you have suggestions or questions, please let us know. We can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We recognize that commuting is a personal choice, especially at this time. Stanford commuters are encouraged to assess and select the option(s) that best meet their needs. Information we provide about commute options is provided as a courtesy for those who need it and is not intended to encourage specific commute mode choices.
