Purchase Parking

Stanford Transportation has implemented a virtual permit system. Commuters, residents, and departments can purchase virtual parking permits, enter license plate information for vehicles they plan to park on campus, and link those vehicles to their permits. Visitors can use ParkMobile in visitor parking areas. Tour groups must reserve parking spaces in advance.

Commuter Parking

Stanford commuters can adopt a sustainable commute or purchase daily or long-term parking to support their work schedule. Consider biking, transit, walking, carpooling, or vanpooling to reduce the financial/environmental costs of driving alone and parking hassles.

Student Parking

Commuting students (non-first-year) can purchase commuter permits ‘A’ and ‘C’ while actively enrolled in classes, but are not eligible for residential permits. Students living on campus (resident students) and with an active housing contract can purchase residential permits for their designated house or dorm areas, but are not eligible for 'A' or 'C' commuter permits. If you want to be more environmentally friendly, consider a car-free lifestyle.

Visitor Parking

Visitor and hourly paid parking are available in designated areas throughout the Stanford and Stanford Redwood City Campuses. All visitor parking payments are contactless and managed through Park Mobile.

Department Parking

Authorized department contacts can send guest parking permit invites for daily use, request fixed-term parking, or purchase annual parking permits for departmental vehicles or employees to use when parking for special department meetings or events (not as a part of their regular commute).

Vendor Parking

Vendor parking is available to businesses with contracts or agreements with the university including banks, janitorial, food service businesses, consultants, and auditors. Authorized vendor contacts can request fixed-term parking and will have access to purchase daily and annual parking permits.

Contractor Parking

The general contractor must make all parking arrangements for construction, renovation, or other university-sponsored projects in conjunction with the Stanford Project Manager. Authorized company contacts can purchase daily or annual Service Vehicle ('SV') parking permits.
