AC Transit (updated Oct.20)
  • AC Transit resumed fare collection and front door boarding on Monday, Oct. 19. Lines U continues to be free for those with a valid university ID card, hospital ID badge, or SLAC ID badge.

  • As of Sept. 15, AC Transit offers free facemasks and hand sanitizer for passengers as part of the agency's reNEW Plan.

  • Line U service resumed on Aug. 10 as part of AC Transit's Service Recovery Plan.

BART (updated Sept. 15)
  • On Monday Sept. 14, BART’s schedule was updated to add more frequency during peak commute times on several lines.

Caltrain (updated Dec. 12)
  • As of Monday, Dec. 14, Caltrain will begin operating a new schedule that is designed to improve service for essential workers and transit-dependent riders. Weekday trains will run every half hour.

  • Hillsdale Station temporarily closed as of May 16.

Commute.org Redwood City-Midpoint Caltrain shuttle (updated Dec. 12)
  • Commute.org's latest schedule change for the Redwood City-Midpoint Caltrain shuttle will go into effect on Dec. 14 to align with Caltrain's service adjustments.

Dumbarton Express (updated June 9)
  • Effective June 14, the DB and DB1 implemented new schedules.
  • Effective June 1, the westbound DB departing Union City BART at 1:40 p.m. and the eastbound DB departing Deer Creek Road at 2:40 p.m. have been canceled.

SamTrans (updated Jan. 5)
  • As of Jan. 17, SamTrans will adjust schedules on several of its routes to pre-COVID levels and improve connections.

  • On Aug. 16, fare collection and front-door boarding resumed with the installation of protective barriers that allow customers to pay their fare while avoiding contact with bus operators.

SFMTA/Muni (updated Jan. 4)
  • On Saturday, Dec. 19, the SFMTA gradually started to bring back Muni Metro service by rail and increase bus service.

  • As of January 23, the T Third is scheduled to resume rail service between Sunnydale and Embarcadero Station. Multiple bus routes will be extended and increase frequency. Several bus routes will also be brought back into service and two new routes will be added (55 Dogpatch and 15 Bayview-Hunters Point Express). Additional rail service is scheduled to resume in February and March 2021.

VTA (updated Jan. 5)
  • On Feb. 8, VTA will increase the frequency of bus lines 23, 25, 64, 66, 68, 71, 77 to address the challenging issue of passenger pass ups due to bus capacity limits.

  • VTA has developed a table with a detailed description of the changes for each of the seven routes, plus anticipated schedule adjustments for connection and timing purposes for most routes in the system.
