Purchase or Continue a Drive-Alone Parking Permit
If you are moving to SRWC, or have moved, you should now be eligible to purchase a ‘C-SRWC’ permit.
As you may be aware, Stanford Transportation transitioned to a virtual parking permit system last summer. With virtual permits, you will not need to come to Stanford Transportation to pick up your permit or wait for a physical permit to arrive in the mail. Instead, your license plate becomes your virtual parking permit. This means when purchasing a virtual permit, you must link your vehicle's license plate(s) to it. (Refer to tips to avoid citation, how virtual permits work, and “how to” guides). Here’s what you need to know:
You can enter your license plate information and purchase your ‘C-SRWC’ permit through our online ordering system. Before you do, please read the following for guidance.
If you already have a monthly or long-term main campus permit, we have programmed—or will be programming—your permit to expire at the end of the month of your move. (For example, if you moved in January, your permit would expire January 31; if you moved in February, your permit would expire February 29; and so on.) We are doing this for two reasons. First, it is more convenient for you not to need to take the additional steps to adjust your permit’s expiration date. Second, it enables you to keep your main campus permit through the month of your move, and purchase a ‘C-SRWC’ permit for the next and/or future months. Your main campus permit will be valid at SRWC during this transition.
It is important to note that ‘A’ permit parking is a higher rate, and there are no “A’ permit spaces at Stanford Redwood City. As such, and since ‘C-SRWC’ permits are valid at both SRWC and main campus, please purchase a ‘C-SRWC’ permit for July and beyond.
After the two-week transition, you will no longer be able to purchase monthly or long-term main campus parking permits. You will have the ability to purchase ‘A’ and ‘C-SRWC’ daily permits for days when you would like to park on the main campus. Please refer to our article about options for traveling between campuses to learn more.
If you have a special circumstance that require you to be on the main campus on a frequent basis, and you need to purchase a monthly or long-term ‘A’ permit beyond the two-week transition, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 650.723.9362.
To save money on parking, you may want to consider options that offset the cost of a permit. These include using the Scoop app to carpool, joining the Commute Club and purchasing daily permits if you are only coming to SRWC a few days a week, and purchasing permits with pre-tax payroll deduction. (Eligibility restrictions apply). For more information, please refer to our Three Ways to Save on Your SRWC Permit page.
Where to Park
Parking is currently available at Barron Garage (2855 Bay Road), Broadway Lot (at the corner of Broadway and Douglas Avenue), and Bay Lot (Bay Road and Warrington Avenue)
Entering and exiting Barron Garage
There are entrances on Bay Road and Barron Avenue.
Please note: Do not turn left from Bay Road to enter the garage. If you are approaching the garage from the west on Bay Road, please turn left on Barron Avenue and use the Barron entrance. When exiting the garage, if you need to turn left (east), please exit on Barron Avenue, since left turns should not be made from the Bay Road exit. For more information, please refer to our parking entrances and exits map.
It's important for Stanford to be a good neighbor to surrounding communities, hospital colleagues, and patients. Because of this, the University does not support or condone parking off-campus in nearby neighborhoods or the Stanford Health Care clinic parking, as it negatively impacts these communities and individuals.
