Resident student permits
‘RES’ daily permit sales are not available to the general public. Stanford affiliation required.
Students who live on campus can buy permits for their designated house or dorm areas, but are NOT allowed to purchase 'A,' or 'C' commuter permits. You're only allowed to keep one motorized vehicle on campus unless you're in couples or family housing. Students in couples or family housing are limited to two long-term permits.
Resident student parking is divided into the following areas: West, South, East, SJ, and Escondido Village. See the Parking and Circulation Map for the locations of these areas. Each permit is valid only in its area.
- You can make installment payments on a long-term permit through our recurring debit/charge service.
- Permit ordering and payment options are listed on our How to Purchase page.
- The Parking and Circulation / Campus Map shows where each permit type is valid.
You can buy a regular Resident permit and park in a full space, or get a Motorcycle/Scooter permit which is good only in 'MC' spaces. If own both a motorcycle and a car, you'll need to leave one at home unless you are in couples or family housing.
Resident Visitor Permits
Resident student lots are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In order to park in these lots, visitors will need to have a one-day 'Resident' permit, valid until 11:59 p.m. for the selected date. Residents in Stanford student housing may purchase as many as needed.
