Special rates and rental procedures

Students 18 to 20 years old:

Under 21 but need to rent a car? The Enterprise branch at Stanford rents to Stanford students, ages 18-20, with valid Stanford ID, proof of full-coverage car insurance, and a major credit or debit card. For rate information, see the Stanford student (ages 18-20) rate sheet (PDF, 39 KB).

To make a reservation by phone, call (650) 833-8060. To make a reservation online, visit Enterprise's reservation page for Stanford affiliates and select the option for "Stanford Students: 18-20 years old." Please note that the online reservation page may not reflect the Stanford rates. If their system does not match the Stanford rate sheet, please call for a reservation to request the lower Stanford rate.

Please note that these rates are ONLY available at Enterprise's Stanford branch. Reservations at other branches will not be honored.

Faculty, staff, and students 21 years and older:

Special rates are available for Stanford faculty, staff, and students 21 years and older. These rates are valid at any Enterprise location in California. For rate information, see the rate sheets for Stanford employees and students ages 21+ (PDF, 43 KB)

To make a reservation by phone, call (650) 833-8060. To make a reservation online, visit Enterprise's reservation page for Stanford affiliates and choose "Staff/Faculty" or "Students 21 and over." Please note that the online reservation page may not reflect the Stanford rates. If their system does not match the Stanford rate sheet, please call for a reservation to request the lower Stanford rate.

Please note that these rates may not be the lowest available. You may wish to compare these with the "Published Rate" option on the reservation page, which reflects Enterprise's current Internet rate.

Departments:

Departments with existing corporate accounts may reserve vehicles online by entering their account number in the "Customer Number" space on the Enterprise website. When you need to reserve a specialty vehicle, such as a 4-wheel drive, please contact the branch directly for availability. If you do not know your customer number, please call the branch at (650) 833-8060 for further assistance.

Free hourly car rentals

Commute Club member? Get twelve hourly car rental vouchers a year, for FREE. Now, when you use alternative transportation to commute to Stanford, you have a car available should you need to take care of personal business during the day (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

Commute Club members can receive three hourly car rental vouchers each quarter. Simply stop by our office to pick up your vouchers for the current quarter, or email us at commuteclub@stanford.edu to have your vouchers sent to you by mail.

Please note that:

• Vouchers are only valid at Enterprise's Stanford branch, located at 360 Oak Road within Parking Structure 5. Please call Enterprise at (650) 833-8060 to make arrangements for your rental.
• Each voucher entitles the user to one hour of rental time of an economy-sized car. If needed, multiple vouchers (including non-expired vouchers from prior quarters) can be combined for a free multi-hour rental, but cannot be applied towards an upgrade or other additional charges.
• Vouchers are valid only for weekday rentals originating on or after 8 a.m. and terminating on or before 5 p.m. the same day.
• Renter is responsible for additional charges, including additional rental time, fuel, surcharges, and any optional products and services. Please see the full terms and conditions included with your vouchers for more information.

Enterprise's Residents Rental Program

Campus residents: don't have access to a car on campus? Join Enterprise's Residents Rental Program, specially created for Stanford residents, and offering great member benefits like $10 Nights during the week.*

With this new program, members can rent a car from the Stanford Enterprise branch after 4:00 p.m. for just $10. This program is similar to car sharing, but with the following member benefits:

• No enrollment fee
• No monthly commitment
• No annual fee
• Unlimited mileage
• 24-hour roadside assistance

Member qualifications include:

• Stanford campus resident
• Age 18 and older**
• Valid driver's license
• Major credit card

To join, download the application, and return it to Stanford's Enterprise branch at 360 Oak Road. Once your application is accepted, you will receive a welcome packet detailing the rules of the program. For more information, call Enterprise at (650) 833-8060.

When you’re ready to rent a car, please call Enterprise in advance to make a reservation. This will help to ensure that there is a vehicle available for your rental and make your visit to the Enterprise office as efficient as possible to get you on your way more quickly.

* Program open to campus residents only. $10 rate valid Monday through Thursday, after 4:00 p.m. Vehicles must be returned by 8:30 a.m. or late charge will be assessed. Program does not include additional liability insurance. Rental qualifications for 18-20 year olds apply, along with a $7/rental surcharge. Detailed list of rules and regulations provided in welcome packet.

** Rental qualifications for 18-20 year olds include but are not limited to proof of full collision, comprehensive and liability insurance that transfers to a rental vehicle. Underage surcharge of $7/rental will be assessed.
