We asked On the Move readers to share how they’re positively impacted by Stanford Transportation program benefits and here’s what they said:

Bridgett Lyall - Thankful for Stanford Transportation

I’m incredibly thankful for the free Caltrain Go Pass to use for my commute to campus. It’s saved me a lot of money and keeps another car off the road during peak times.

–Bridgett Lyall, HR & Operations Administrator, School of Engineering

Kenna Mcrae

Thanks to the Caltrain Go Pass and Marguerite, I commute for free from Redwood City to Stanford. I decided to forego my car when I moved here, and without Stanford Transportation I don’t know where I’d be! It’s saved me stress and money and lets me focus on my work here at Stanford.

–Kenna Mcrae, Bioengineering Graduate Student

Sarah Gooding

The free Caltrain Go Pass is UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! It gives me the freedom to catch the train when I'm too tired to ride. The freedom to use it on weekends is a huge plus.

– Sarah Gooding, Engineer, SLAC

Kasey Rhee

The Marguerite Shuttle means that Stanford becomes somewhere I can get around without a car. I get in a little people-watching, a little public transport riding which represents the feeling I love about living in cities.

– Kasey Rhee, Political Science graduate student

Mike Gallagher

I save thousands of dollars, and peace of mind to and from work.

– Mike Gallagher, Neighborhood Housing Center Supervisor

Sam Cree

I broke my foot last year. Thanks to the Marguerite and the Disability Golf (DisGo) Cart service, I was still able to travel around campus.

– Sam Cree, Graduate Student, Physics

Elizabeth Lee

I usually bike to work, but during the heatwave, I used my free VTA Smartpass to ride buses with the Clipper Card. It's also saved me from the rain multiple times!

–Elizabeth Lee, Associate Director, Communications and Marketing

Joshua Shannon

It’s a huge cost-savings to use the benefit of a free Go Pass to access Caltrain in my commute from Sunnyvale to Palo Alto or Redwood City. I save time and money on my commute while reducing my impact on the environment. I feel well-supported knowing I have multiple forms of travel available to me.

—Joshua Shannon, Asst. Director for Residential Experience

I like to scout out places to eat and things to do in downtown Menlo Park, San Carlos, Redwood City, and Burlingame from Caltrain on my commute home. I’ve explored different libraries and thrift stores within walking distance to the train.
