1. Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles
A complete summer vibe: bright, sunny mornings on the bus, train, or in your van/carpool aren’t complete without this Abbey Road staple. Fun fact: George Harrison penned it at the country house of his friend Eric Clapton in 1969.

2. Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham!
How can you not arrive at work in a good mood after listening to this pop confection? It puts the boom-boom into our hearts. And how about the lyric – I’m not plannin’ on going solo? We couldn’t have written it better since here at Transportation we’re all about encouraging sustainable transportation. Fun fact: George Michael's inspo for the song came from Andrew Ridgeley who scribbled a note to his parents late one night asking them to "wake me up up before you go." Michael added an extra “go” and the rest is history.

3. Love Train by the O’Jays
Disclaimer: You might pop up and start dancing in the Caltrain aisle when this comes into your earpods. And if you miss your train, well, we feel sorry, sorry, sorry for you. But at least you have the O’Jays to keep you company until the next one comes.

4. 9 To 5 by Dolly Parton
Tumble outta bed and stumble to the kitchen, pour yourself a cup of ambition and listen to this Dolly Parton ditty! The song—and movie of the same name—owe their titles to 9to5, an organization founded in 1973 that aimed to bring fair pay and equal treatment for women in the workplace.

5. Lovely Day by Bill Withers
There’s no better way to navigate through your workday than with this timeless Bill Withers’ hit. Tons of positivity shines out of this tune, so it’s the perfect choice to provide motivation through the day – regardless of any snafu that comes up. It’s all good, you got this and it’s going to be a lovely day!

6. End of the Line by Traveling Wilburys
Your Marguerite/VTA/AC Transit/Caltrain/BART stop is here and you’re almost home. Why not let Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, and the late greats, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison and George Harrison play you out?

7. Our House by Madness
One of our readers listens to this song by the ‘80s British ska pop band on the Marguerite shuttle at the end of the day in anticipation of walking through the front door after a hard day’s work.

8. Bonus Track: Working for the Weekend by Loverboy
Who doesn’t love a little ‘80s cheese plus is it Friday yet?
