Stanford Transportation Winter Closure Impacts
Customer Service
In observance of the University Winter Closure, customer service will be unavailable from December 22, 2025, through January 2, 2026. We will resume regular business hours on Monday, January 5, 2026, operating from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Calls regarding parking enforcement requests will still be responded to during both of these impacts. Even when our office is closed, you can still use the How-to Guides to:
- Buy a parking permit through our parking permit management system
- Access the pre-tax transit and commuter benefits portal
Parking Enforcement
Parking in Residential and Special Zones is enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in:
- Residential lots (except shared lots)
- Special zones include disabled parking, red zones, fire lanes, and spaces designated for special permits only.
For the remaining areas of the Stanford campus and the Stanford Redwood City campus, parking enforcement remains in effect as usual except for the following official university holidays:
- Wednesday, December 24, 2025
- Thursday, December 25, 2025
- Thursday, January 1, 2026
Vehicles cannot be left in commuter or visitor parking areas for more than 24 hours. In accordance with Stanford University Traffic and Parking Code Section 3.8 on Storage of Vehicles, no vehicle can be stored without express permission from Stanford Transportation.
Parking Garage Cleaning
Garage cleaning during Winter Break will be postponed this year as part of cost-saving efforts.
Bike Cage Information
As a reminder, do not leave bikes parked overnight or through winter closure. Bike cages are intended for day use only, not overnight storage (refer to your rental agreement for more information). Bicycles left in cages overnight are subject to removal and may be affected by cleaning activities. Stanford is not responsible for any losses and/or damages. Call 911 or use a blue emergency tower immediately to report any suspicious activity near the bike cages or in the garage.
