Several years ago, I was biking to work on Palm Drive and my bicycle’s handlebars locked up, causing me to crash. Several Stanford employees walking to work came to my rescue.

One person took my bike and locked it at his office for me to retrieve later. Another walked me to Urgent Care at Palo Alto Medical Foundation because she wanted to make sure I got there safely.

I see this kind of caring on a regular basis throughout our campus community. It’s one of the many reasons I value working at Stanford.
