Congrats to our Flat Margy Contest Winners!
For the third in our summer contest series, we asked you to bring Flat Margy along on your commute, and you delivered. A twist on the vintage books and elementary school assignment, Flat Margy was named after the star equine who pulled Stanford’s first mode of transportation, the horse and buggy. Congrats to gift card winners Kitty Lee, Robert Strachan, Andrew LeMat, and Adolfo Leon
MOST CREATIVE MARGY
Kitty Lee commutes from Sunnyvale on the Caltrain Express and then takes the Marguerite Shuttle from the Palo Alto Transit Station to campus.
“I thought it would be lovely –and fitting– for a rainbow themed Margy since we just finished celebrating pride month. We should ALL be able to enjoy the ride of life – no matter what color!“
BEDTIME MARGY
Flat Margy not only inspired Andrew LeMat to bike and ride Caltrain to work from Los Altos but also to read the Flat Stanley books to his son, Mason, for the first time.
“He’s four and loves it,” said Andrew. Bonus: Andrew scored his bike at Stanford’s bike sales. “Such a fantastic way for staff to get a bike for going to and from work,” he said.
HONORABLE MENTION MARGY
Even Marguerite Shuttle driver, Antonio Franco (aka “Franco”) got into the spirit and played our Flat Margy game.
MARGUERITE FUN FACTS
The Marguerite Shuttle got its name from the horse that pulled Asa "Uncle John" Andrews’ carriage as he ferried people from Palo Alto to Stanford. The Marguerite has 19 route lines that serve the Stanford community. You can track the Marguerite shuttle in real time with the SPOT App.
