Eligibility Requirements for Vanpools
Are You Eligible?
To qualify for a Stanford vanpool permit and 100-percent vanpool subsidy, applicants must meet these requirements:
- At least four full-time members of your vanpool must meet all of the eligibility requirements and must not already have a long-term parking permit.
- Vanpool members must vanpool together for the majority of the commute and live in areas that would facilitate a reasonable and expected commute pattern.
What If You're Not Eligible?
- Vanpoolers who do not meet the eligibility requirements do not qualify for Stanford vanpool permits or the vanpool subsidy. Examples of those not eligible include night- and evening-shift employees or employees at off-campus sites or at sites where parking is not managed by Stanford Transportation.
- Ineligible commuters are welcome to share a ride with Stanford vanpools as an unofficial member of the vanpool and are welcome to use the Stanford Ridesharing page to find Stanford ridesharing partners.
Vanpool Compliance
Please note that participation in the vanpool program is a privilege. Stanford Transportation reserves the right to deny membership when an individual’s actions are or appear to be inconsistent with the goals of our programs.
Anyone found to be in violation of the vanpool program and/or parking permit policies set forth by Stanford Transportation is subject to revocation of transportation incentives and/or parking privileges. Instances of egregious misconduct may result in further administrative, disciplinary, and/or legal action, up to and including termination of employment or expulsion.
Rules and policies of the vanpool program may change without notification to eligible participants.
